News: Zooniverse – Measuring the ANZACs

The Measuring the ANZACs needs your help. The 25th of April 2017 was the 102nd anniversary of the World War I landings by Australian and New Zealand troops (ANZACs) on the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey, alongside British and French troops. Find out more about the Gallipoli campaign here.

The Measuring the ANZACs project is transcribing key documents from the personnel files of these troops to understand changes in health and life expectancy. We need your help to transcribe key fields from enlistment documents and service history sheets that tell the everyday and incredible stories of mens’ lives and wartime service.

100,000 New Zealand men served in World War I, in Gallipoli and on the Western Front. Can you help us complete the transcription of 100,000 fields in the next month to remember these men?

Later in the year we will be remembering the Battle of Passchendaele. Your help with transcribing now will allow us to uncover previously untold stories of men who served there.

Please head over to Measuring the ANZACs right now to help us complete our challenge.

Thanks for all your amazing work!
