Deadline: Wednesday, March 1, 2017
University of Minnesota Libraries Publishing publishes openly accessible scholarly content created by any individual faculty member, staff member, student, department, center, or college associated with the University of Minnesota Twin Cities’ campus. Additionally, we are happy to assist with questions related to larger publishing topics, including: platform options, publishing models, content licensing options, and recommendations for off-campus services.
Step 1: Set up a consultation. Members of the Publishing Services Team meet with eligible author(s)/creator(s), this often includes the subject liaison.
Step 2: Submit a proposal. Our next deadline is March 1.
Step 3: Determine a publishing platform. Once we learn the goals of the publication, based on the submitted proposal, Publishes Services will assist in selecting a platform that best fits the publication.
Step 4: Set-up the publication. We will assist authors/creators in the graphical design elements, layout, and formatting of the publication.
Step 5: Editorial training. Once the publication is ready to go, we’ll train all members of the editorial team, authors, and reviewers on how to use the platform.
